About This Role

This role is for a Field Service Engineer supporting BD's Medication Management Solutions automated dispensing systems within healthcare facilities. The engineer will provide remote and on-site technical support, perform maintenance, and ensure efficient service delivery to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide remote and on-site technical support for BD Pyxis automated dispensing systems within hospitals and healthcare facilities
  • Respond to, evaluate, and prioritize work orders; diagnose, service, and resolve issues regarding proprietary hardware and software system components
  • Maintain ownership of work orders, escalate issues to team lead and manager, and log, track, and document all work order activity
  • Execute a preventive maintenance program and provide limited cross-functional support for Sales and Implementation teams
  • Perform efficient field services including installations, in-servicing, repair, preventive maintenance, calibration, and sales support
  • Maintain proper and accurate small parts inventory for service and follow approved inventory control policies
  • Provide accurate and timely documentation of field activity, expenses, and time distribution
  • Continue training and self-development to advance skillsets and learn company products and applications
  • Maintain company assets (car, tools, inventories) securely and in working order
  • Possess and maintain a working knowledge of corporate and service department procedures and policies, including customer complaint handling and Medical Device Reporting

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Healthcare Technology or other technical field, or 3-5 years of related work experience
  • 3-5 years of combination Hardware/Software/IT experience supporting both proprietary and standard applications
  • 24x7 on-call experience in a customer-facing/field service environment
  • Good mechanical, computer, verbal, written, and time management skills
  • Ability to work within defined processes and methodologies with minimal degree of supervision
  • Valid driver's license and meet BD's auto safety standards
  • Proof of current immunizations (Hepatitis B, Influenza, MMR, Varicella, Annual TB/PPD, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis, COVID-19) for customer site access
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 70 pounds
  • Meet all Department of Defense SkillBridge Eligibility requirements and approved to participate in SkillBridge program
  • Proven track record of success in military career

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Healthcare Technology or other technical field, or Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3-5 years of related work experience or 3-5 years of combination Hardware/Software/IT experience supporting both proprietary and standard applications

Nice to Have

  • Customer Support Certification
  • Prior experience working as a hospital pharmacy technician or in a hospital Bio-Med environment
  • Prior military Bio-Med experience
  • Prior Automated Teller Machine (ATM) experience
