Join a high-profile data center fiber deployment project as a Fiber Splicer or Lead Fiber Splicer. This role involves mass fusion fiber splicing, testing, and installation in high-density environments, with potential for extension or long-term placement.
Responsibilities
- Perform mass fusion fiber splicing, including ribbonization
- Utilize MPO scopes and fiber testing equipment (EXFO, Fujikura)
- Install trunk routing and PDRs, LIUs, pigtails, and splice frames
- Install cable tray and pull fiber through MaxCell pathway systems
- Install backbone and distribution fiber in high-density environments
- Pull, land, and splice large-count fiber trunks across multiple floors
- Prepare racks and patching, including installation of 45U racks and 4U fiber enclosures
- Construct PDRs with LIUs and splice to MPO-8 pigtails
- Label and document all cables, frames, and panels
- Perform end-to-end fiber testing using Oracle/TIA methodologies
- Bond and ground racks, frames, and trays
Requirements
- Mass fusion fiber splicing experience
- Experience with MPO scopes
- Experience with fiber testing and troubleshooting (EXFO, Fujikura, or similar)
- Experience with trunk routing and installation
- Familiarity with PDRs, LIUs, pigtails, and splice frames
- Experience with cable tray installation
- Ability to pull fiber through MaxCell pathway systems
- Experience with backbone and distribution fiber installation in high-density environments
- Ability to pull, land, and splice large-count fiber trunks across multiple floors
- Experience with rack and patching preparation (45U racks, 4U fiber enclosures)
- Ability to construct PDRs with LIUs, ribbonize and prep high-count fiber, and splice to MPO-8 pigtails
- Ability to label and document cables, frames, and panels
- Experience with end-to-end fiber testing using Oracle/TIA methodologies
- Knowledge of bonding and grounding of racks, frames, and trays
- Hard hat with chin strap
- Cut-resistant gloves
- Safety glasses
- High-visibility vest
Nice to Have
- Experience in data centers or high-density fiber environments
- Familiarity with large-scale backbone and distribution fiber projects
