Arizona State University is seeking Faculty Associates to develop and teach undergraduate courses in digital and computer forensics for the 2025-2026 academic year. This role involves preparing students for careers shaping the justice system through scientific evidence and empirically supported best practices.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with instructional designers and full-time faculty to develop new digital forensic courses including, but not limited to, Introduction to Information Security, Digital Forensics, Advanced Digital Forensics, Multimedia Forensics, Network Forensics Analysis, Database Forensics, Mobile Forensics, and Internet of Things (IoT) Forensics
- Teach upper and/or lower-division courses to undergraduate students, in face-to-face, hybrid, or online formats
- Prepare course syllabi, lectures, learning exercises, exams, and other course materials
- Grade assignments and assessments
- Maintain regular availability to students including office hours as appropriate to course modality
- Monitor student success and regularly respond to student academic issues
Requirements
- Master’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information science, criminology/criminal justice, crime analysis, or a closely related field at the time of hire
- OR a bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information science, criminology/criminal justice, crime analysis, or related field, and a minimum of five (5) years of experience working in digital/computer forensics or cybersecurity
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information science, criminology/criminal justice, crime analysis, or a closely related field, OR a bachelor's degree in a related field with 5+ years of experience in digital/computer forensics or cybersecurity
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in digital/computer forensics or cybersecurity, OR at least one year of practical experience working in digital/computer forensic investigations
Nice to Have
- At least one year of practical experience working in digital/computer forensic investigations
- Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with students from a wide variety of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, including first-generation college students
- One or more semesters of teaching undergraduate courses with strong evidence of teaching effectiveness
- Experience with technology/course management systems
- Demonstrated excellent English written and verbal communication skills
