About This Role

Arizona State University is seeking a Full Professor in Forensic Psychology/Psychology and Law to establish an externally funded research program, deliver undergraduate and graduate instruction, and contribute service to the academic community. The faculty member will join the Law and Behavioral Science group, focusing on issues facing the legal system.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a vigorous, externally funded program of research in forensic psychology
  • Deliver quality undergraduate and graduate instruction in psychology and law
  • Contribute service to the School, College, University, the profession, and the community
  • Create and teach courses in relevant areas of forensic psychology/psychology and law to undergraduate and graduate students in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats
  • Advance impactful education through undergraduate research, innovative programmatic development, and culturally responsive teaching and mentoring practices
  • Engage in regular professional development
  • Foster collegiality and contribute to a positive and healthy work environment
  • Attend faculty unit and committee meetings per unit expectations

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in psychology or a closely related field at time of hire
  • Demonstrated expertise in the intersection of psychology and law
  • Portfolio of university teaching, research, and service that merits appointment as a full Professor with tenure at Arizona State University

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in psychology or a closely related field
  • Portfolio of university teaching, research, and service that merits appointment as a full Professor with tenure

Nice to Have

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical psychology with expertise in forensic clinical assessment and/or treatment
  • Board certification in forensic psychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology
  • Evidence of empirical publications in top-tier journals in general psychology and/or legal psychology
  • A successful record of securing external funding for research
  • Experience teaching courses at the intersection of psychology and the law or legal systems
  • Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with students from a wide variety of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds
  • Evidence of successful course development experience commensurate with the candidate's rank
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring students in research in relevant areas
  • Established collaborations with industry partners and/or previous industry experience
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness
