Faculty Associate Pool - Digital Forensics Undergraduate Programs

About This Role

Arizona State University (ASU) invites applications for Faculty Associate positions to develop and teach undergraduate courses in digital/computer forensics. This role will involve collaborating with instructional designers and full-time faculty, preparing course materials, and maintaining availability to students.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with instructional designers and full-time faculty to develop new digital forensic courses including Introduction to Information Security, Digital Forensics, Advanced Digital Forensics, Multimedia Forensics, Network Forensics Analysis, Database Forensics, Mobile Forensics, and Internet of Things (IoT) Forensics
• Teach upper and/or lower-division courses to undergraduate students, in face-to-face, hybrid, or online formats
• Prepare course syllabi, lectures, learning exercises, exams, and other course materials
• Grade assignments and assessments
• Maintain regular availability to students including office hours as appropriate to course modality
• Monitor student success and regularly respond to student academic issues

Requirements

• Master’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information science, criminology/criminal justice, crime analysis, or a closely related field at the time of hire
• OR a bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information science, criminology/criminal justice, crime analysis, or related field, and a minimum of five (5) years of experience working in digital/computer forensics or cybersecurity

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information science, criminology/criminal justice, crime analysis, or a closely related field OR a bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information science, criminology/criminal justice, crime analysis, or related field
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in digital/computer forensics or cybersecurity with a bachelor's degree

Nice to Have

• At least one year of practical experience working in digital/computer forensic investigations
• Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with students from a wide variety of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, including first-generation college students
• One or more semesters of teaching undergraduate courses with strong evidence of teaching effectiveness
• Experience with technology/course management systems
• Demonstrated excellent English written and verbal communication skills
