This role involves supporting a boutique elder law firm specializing in estate planning, probate, and guardianship by managing client communications, court deadlines, and preparing legal documents. The paralegal will ensure smooth case progression and maintain organized client files.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with clients, attorneys, and court staff
- Respond to client requests via email and telephone
- Monitor court deadlines
- Prepare materials for client meetings
- Perform e-filing
- Prepare drafts of estate planning documents from approved forms
- Prepare probate forms and filings
- Draft correspondence
- Draft and respond to discovery
- Prepare pleadings
- Manage cases
- Keep record of billable time
- Organize and maintain client files
- Scan, copy, and file documents in an electronic file management system
Requirements
- Certified paralegal
- Exceptionally organized
- Proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to quickly learn new software programs
- Experience e-filing with the courts
- Case management experience
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines
- Ability to work at a fast pace and change directions easily
- Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance

- Experience with Prodoc
- Experience with Quickbooks
