The Equipment Operator is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment to load, offload, and transport landscape supplies, ensuring efficient and damage-free handling of materials. This role performs assigned tasks while upholding safety protocols and equipment proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Operate assigned equipment such as front-end loaders, skid steers, track loaders, articulating loaders, rubber tire wheel loaders, and excavators in a safe and proficient manner
- Clean and maintain equipment as scheduled or required
- Advise branch leadership of maintenance and repair requirements for equipment
- Assist with other duties including receiving materials, inventory, order processing/fulfillment, and general labor tasks
Requirements
- Ability to frequently lift 50 pounds or more
- Capability of working in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, snow, rain)
- Ability to read and write to record daily logs and maintain daily equipment checklists
- High school diploma or equivalent
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience operating equipment such as front-end loaders, skid steers, track loaders, articulating loaders, rubber tire wheel loaders, and/or excavators, strongly preferred
Nice to Have
- Experience operating equipment such as front-end loaders, skid steers, track loaders, articulating loaders, rubber tire wheel loaders, and/or excavators
- Knowledge of proper safety and maintenance protocols of aforementioned equipment
- Experience in the landscape, hardscape, forestry, nursery, or irrigation industry
