Department Manager - Irrigation

About This Role

Lead the irrigation department within a branch, serving as the expert for customers and driving sales and operational excellence, while fostering a strong safety culture and team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Branch Manager with sales and operations planning process, statistical demand forecasting, and integration of supply and demand plans
• Promote an incident-free environment emphasizing safety daily through leading by example
• Encourage a strong safety culture through workplace organization, training, and executing policies
• Understand and execute the principles of inventory management, target customer mix, and sales
• Create a positive environment for employees which encourages teamwork in alignment with SiteOne DNA
• Train and develop agronomic staff to be knowledgeable of the Irrigation product line and customer needs to support achievement of departmental sales goals
• Partner with branch leadership to understand and implement new technologies and ways of working to help positively impact business performance
• Support other branch departments and customers as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
• Excellent customer service and management skills
• Experience with sales and operations planning and forecasting
• Understanding of accounting fundamentals (debits, credits, accounts receivable, accounts payable, budgets)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-3 years of experience in the green industry and an understanding of irrigation products, preferred

• 1-3 years of experience in the green industry and an understanding of irrigation products
• Line of Business (LOB) Certification Level I or higher
