The Department Manager at H&M supports Sales and Profit goals by ensuring an excellent customer experience within their department and the overall store. This role involves developing and leading a strong team, managing their performance, and adhering to company standards and legal requirements.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and follow up on Sales & Profit KPIs for the department with Visual Merchandisers to maximize selling
- Ensure store operations, H&M standards, and best practices are followed through proper scheduling
- Plan and prioritize actions with the team that impact selling and ensure implementation of the Commercial Handbook
- Deliver H&M Customer Service standards through active coaching and leading by example
- Actively participate in executing store routines and tasks including delivery, garment processing, and price changes
- Manage recruitment, training, development, and succession planning for the department team
- Evaluate and manage the performance of department team members, providing feedback and development plans
- Ensure health & safety, legal, and security issues are handled according to H&M standards and local laws
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities including time-off requests, pay, terminations, and corrective actions
- Maintain overall store responsibility in the absence of a Store Manager
Requirements
- 1-2+ years of transferrable experience
- Ability to lift in excess of 20 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, stretch, engage in repetitive motions, push, pull and carry items
- Ability to climb a ladder and use a step stool
- Open availability including evenings and weekends
- Basic computer skills (browser navigation, software interaction, data entry)
Qualifications
- 1-2+ years of transferrable experience welcome
