Assistant Branch Manager II

About This Role

Support the Branch Manager in overseeing all facets of branch operations, including inventory, team development, customer satisfaction, and financial growth. This role involves leading, coaching, and mentoring branch associates to ensure high performance and career development.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive environment for branch associates encouraging teamwork
• Lead a team and recruit top talent to assess individual strengths and weaknesses
• Actively coach and mentor branch associates for high performance and long-term career development
• Train and coach all branch associates in customer value best practices to foster a customer-obsessed culture
• Promote an incident-free environment by emphasizing and leading by example in safety
• Encourage a strong safety culture through workplace organization, training, and policy execution
• Implement strategy to achieve goals and monitor key performance metrics daily, weekly, and monthly
• Review performance metrics with Branch Manager to track progress and adjust strategies for changing market conditions
• Partner with branch leadership to understand and support the implementation of emerging technologies and ways of working
• May include direct supervision of associates

Requirements

• Working knowledge of accounting fundamentals
• Knowledge of market preferences, competition, regulations and trends
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Excellent communication and leadership skills

Qualifications

• Higher education degree preferred, High School or secondary diploma or equivalent required
• 3-5 years of experience in retail nursery, irrigation, or landscape industry preferred, and 3-5 years of managerial experience
