The Epic Infrastructure Architect designs, implements, and maintains the core infrastructure supporting the Epic ecosystem, ensuring it is scalable, high-performing, secure, and compliant with Epic's technical requirements. This role also involves performance optimization, security, disaster recovery, and cross-team collaboration for Epic-related projects.
Responsibilities
- Design the overall architecture for Epic environments, including production, non-production, and disaster recovery.
- Oversee the deployment of Epic environments (PRD, TST, DEV, POC, etc.), ensuring proper sizing and configuration.
- Establish and maintain monitoring solutions for key infrastructure layers (CPU, memory, disk I/O, network latency, etc.).
- Ensure infrastructure complies with HIPAA, HITRUST, and internal security standards.
- Architect and test disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity plans for all Epic systems.
- Act as a technical liaison between Epic application teams, server/storage/network teams, and leadership.
- Provide infrastructure guidance for Epic-related projects, upgrades, and go-lives.
- Stay up to date with Epic's System Pulse requirements and help align internal roadmaps with Epics evolving infrastructure recommendations.
