Environmental Services Technician

About This Role

Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in patient rooms and assigned areas by following infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines. This role ensures health standards are met for patients, visitors, and staff at a fast-growing not-for-profit health system.

Responsibilities

• Empty waste baskets
• Sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors using various equipment
• Apply knowledge of housekeeping processes, tools, and techniques in a healthcare environment
• Clean patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas
• Wear proper protective equipment following guidelines
• Keep storage, equipment, and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy
• Use pagers and other technology appropriately
• Assist in laundry areas as appropriate
• Lift and/or move up to 40-50lbs and push/pull variable weight limits

Requirements

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 40-50lbs and push/pull variable weight
• Strong customer service skills
• Communication skills
• Interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.

Nice to Have

• Ability to use computer
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment
