About This Role

The Environmental Service Technician performs routine cleaning tasks across assigned patient rooms and common areas, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to established standards and safety protocols for a healthcare facility.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning in assigned areas following established schedules and prescribed methods.
  • Ensure all common areas and patient rooms are cleaned according to established standards.
  • Clean all fixtures, walls, floors, vents, and lights as required.
  • Perform basic floor care using dry or wet mops, floor scrubbers, and vacuums.
  • Empty trash containers following a prescribed cycle from common areas and patient rooms.
  • Remove medical waste and bio-hazardous trash following established safety, containment, and infection control procedures.
  • Respond to STAT cleaning requests from the nursing or medical staff.
  • Assist with setting up for special events, meetings, seminars, and educational/training programs.
  • Move furniture as requested in work orders.
  • Assist in cleaning of emergency spills that are observed or requested.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED state certification
  • Ability to perform routine cleaning tasks

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED state certification or similar demonstrated ability
  • Up to three months of work-related experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
