Environmental Services Technician

About This Role

Maintain a clean, healthy, and safe environment within a medical facility by performing comprehensive cleaning tasks, waste removal, and equipment maintenance, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete cleaning of assigned areas, including dusting, sanitizing, washing surfaces, sweeping, scrubbing, and refinishing floors
• Vacuum and shampoo carpets, re-stock restrooms, and replace light bulbs
• Report necessary repairs and equipment failures to maintenance staff
• Remove waste by collecting and transporting soiled linen, emptying trash and sharps containers, and transporting solid and hazardous waste
• Recycle materials and empty cigarette receptacles in smoking areas
• Keep equipment clean and orderly
• Maintain a safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules, regulations, and infection control guidelines
• Attend all required in-service education and training classes, including safety update programs
• Consistently meet time schedules and deadlines

Requirements

• Ability to prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• One year experience preferred
