About This Role

Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas, adhering to infection control and safety guidelines. Provide a clean and sterile environment for patients, residents, and staff by performing various housekeeping tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas
• Follow infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines
• Empty waste baskets, sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors using various equipment
• Demonstrate knowledge of housekeeping processes, tools, and techniques in a healthcare environment
• Clean patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas
• Wear proper protective equipment following appropriate guidelines
• Keep storage, equipment, and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy
• Use pagers and other technology appropriately when needed
• Assist in laundry areas as appropriate

Requirements

• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred

Nice to Have

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience
• Ability to use computer
• Prior cleaning experience
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment
