Entry Level Data Center Technician

About This Role

Assist in building the cable infrastructure for a large data center, including pulling and terminating IT and fiber cables, installing cable trays, building server racks, and assisting with electronic security installations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with running, terminating, and installing IT cabling (Cat5, Cat6, Coaxial, and Fiber Optics)
• Install grounding for server racks, equipment, and cable as required
• Perform fire-stopping procedures on fire walls, install sleeves, and on low voltage devices
• Terminate low-voltage devices and IT hardware (Cameras, servers, switches, etc.)
• Follow blueprints precisely to ensure the work is being carried out correctly
• Complete all paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers)
• Adhere to and participate in all company, customer and industry quality and safety standards and regulations

Requirements

• Comfortable working with hands
• Knowledge of basic hand/power tools
• Comfortable with heights
• Ability to handle physical requirements of the role
• Comfortable wearing PPE (steel toe boots, vest, hard hat, goggles/glasses, and gloves)

Qualifications

• Little to no prior experience in the telecommunications or data center industry required
