Join the Federal Solutions team to perform a variety of engineering technician tasks, including testing, repairing, troubleshooting, and installing complex electronics equipment for the FAA's nationwide infrastructure, supporting critical aviation safety and national security programs.
Responsibilities
- Assist with site preparation work for voice switches at Enroute Centers and Terminal TRACONs
- Assist with Fiber Optics Terminal System (FOTS) installation at various sites throughout the USA
- Assist with electronics installations, integration, and testing for rehoming and monitoring AFSS radios
- Install Radio Control Equipment (RCE) such as VHF and UHF radio communication systems and electrical power panels
- Remove and repair or replace components, wires, wire bundles, terminal blocks, and connectors
- Solder, splice, or otherwise install/repair various wire types including coaxial, shielded, solid, and stranded wires
- Test and troubleshoot electrical components using electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical data
- Install sensors, wires, cabling, computers, radios, and satellites in unpredictable, fast-paced environments
- Troubleshoot, repair, align, and calibrate audio equipment and voice communication systems to the component level
Requirements
- High school diploma
- 5+ years’ experience with testing, repairing, troubleshooting, and installation of Fiber Optics, other Radio Control Systems (RCE) and other complex electronics equipment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb towers up to 50 ft.
- Proficiency with Microsoft suite and Internet, and E-mail
- Ability to meet customer security requirements and pass a federal background check
- Ability to travel extensively (up to 100%) within the USA
Qualifications
- High school diploma is required.
- 5+ years’ experience with testing, repairing, troubleshooting, and installation of Fiber Optics, other Radio Control Systems (RCE) and other complex electronics equipment
Nice to Have
- Advanced electronics training from institutions such as junior college, military service, or trade school
- Experience maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, modifying and installing various types of electronic equipment and related devices
- Technical knowledge of electronics principles for determining equipment malfunctions and restoring operation
- Skill in evaluating performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommending changes
