Engineering Operations Technician

About This Role

This role involves operating and maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment in data centers, troubleshooting facility issues, and performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure continuous operation of critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, emergency generator, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs
• Perform limited maintenance tasks including filter changes, HVAC PMs, rack power installs, rack PDU, and rack ATS replacements
• Provide support to Data Center Operations technicians
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
• Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work
• Work a 12 hour shift (rotating 3 and 4 day work weeks days or nights)
• Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log taking
• Utilize internal CMMS to manage building workflows and spare part inventory
• Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance

Requirements

• US citizen with ability to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph
• 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience or 1+ years of data center or mission critical facilities experience
• High school or equivalent diploma

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent diploma
• 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience, or 1+ years of data center or mission critical facilities experience

Nice to Have

• 4+ years of data center engineering experience
• Electrical or mechanical journeyman license
• NFPA 70E Certification
• CFC license (Universal or minimum Type II)
