This role is responsible for performing basic nursing care or secretary work in a pediatric acute care setting, coordinating communication and resources between the care team, physicians, patients, and family members.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic nursing care or secretary work on the assigned nursing unit under the direction of the Registered Nurse
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate patient care
- Assist in coordinating communication and resources between care team, physicians, patients and family members
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current CPR certification from America Heart Association
- Completion of an Accredited Certified Nursing Assistance course, EMT or paramedics training course, or current enrollment in an accredited nursing program with completion of at least one major clinical medical or surgical rotation
Qualifications
- High school diploma required or 5 years’ experience as a CNA/PCT with 3 years’ minimum experience in an acute care setting. Completion of an Accredited Certified Nursing Assistance course, EMT or paramedics training course, or current enrollment in an accredited nursing program with completion of at least one major clinical medical or surgical rotation required.
- 5 years’ experience as a CNA/PCT with 3 years’ minimum experience in an acute care setting preferred
Nice to Have
- 5 years’ experience as a CNA/PCT with 3 years’ minimum experience in an acute care setting
- Data entry or order entry experience on a computer
