About This Role

This dispatcher role is a critical part of a 24/7 call center, handling both PBX functions and emergency communications during medical, facility, security, and weather-related events. The position requires balancing excellent customer service with quick and decisive emergency response.

Responsibilities

  • Support a centralized 24-hour call center for medical, facility, security, and weather-related emergencies
  • Answer, document, and dispatch emergency line calls according to established protocols
  • Initiate notifications via required modalities (Emergency Notification System, overhead paging) with high accuracy
  • Clearly and correctly conduct overhead page announcements
  • Quickly ascertain caller requests and accurately route calls
  • Monitor various alarm systems (Fire alarms, infant abduction, nurse call) and respond accordingly
  • Report irregularities from monitored systems to appropriate personnel
  • Respond to after-hours calls for covered practices and page staff/providers as needed
  • Perform other call center answering and call routing functions
  • Be available for on-call shifts and mandatory overtime

Requirements

  • Demonstrated customer service experience
  • Computer and data entry proficiency
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and adhere to dispatch protocols
  • Ability to remain calm and effective during busy, high-stress situations
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills

Qualifications

  • Entry level with demonstrated customer service experience.

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience in a call center
  • High School Diploma or GED
