Elementary Teacher

About This Role

Instruct elementary students in academic and social skills while meeting individual needs and abilities. This role also involves assisting in other school programs.

Responsibilities

• Support and uphold the mission, vision, and strategic goals of Lexington County School District One
• Interact, communicate, and collaborate effectively with all stakeholders
• Establish a safe, supportive, positive, and productive working and learning environment
• Operate general office and technology equipment for daily activities
• Maintain confidentiality regarding all employee and student information
• Participate in all professional meetings and training sessions as required
• Request and maintain materials needed for daily responsibilities and essential functions
• Supervise student activities in various school areas and maintain positive behavior support
• Demonstrate a variety of 21st-century teaching skills to foster independent, creative, critical thinkers
• Design and facilitate engaging, high-level, sophisticated learning experiences and applications
• Teach concepts and skills based on state standards to facilitate learning and contribute to student development
• Demonstrate and evaluate the effectiveness of formative and summative assessments

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in elementary education or related area
• Previous student teaching experience
• Valid SC Teaching License
• Current government issued identification
• Personal computer experience
• Strong knowledge of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, electronic file management, internet, reporting and presentation software
