Elementary Middle School Occupational Therapist

About This Role

This full-time occupational therapy position supports elementary and middle school students in West Lafayette, IN by facilitating participation in classroom activities and addressing diverse student needs. The role involves conducting diagnostics, developing IEPs, and collaborating with families and staff to enhance student development.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate student participation in classroom activities by supporting fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, sensory processing, and self-care abilities
• Modify tasks and environments to accommodate individual student needs
• Conduct diagnostic and evaluation testing to assess student development
• Prepare detailed and insightful reports based on student assessments and observations
• Develop and maintain Individualized Education Program (IEP) objectives and accommodations
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and team members to communicate student progress and identify areas for support

Requirements

• Hold or be eligible for an Indiana state license in occupational therapy
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
• Flexibility and problem-solving skills to address diverse student needs
