Electrical Estimator

About This Role

This Electrical Estimator role involves preparing detailed electrical estimates for construction projects, collaborating with various stakeholders, and ensuring cost-effectiveness, reliability, and safety of electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical estimates for construction projects, considering materials, labor, equipment, and time requirements
• Review blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates
• Evaluate and recommend electrical systems and products based on cost-effectiveness, reliability, and safety
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, clients, and contractors on job cost estimates
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, new product developments, and the price of materials and labor
• Conduct risk assessments and implement electrical safety standards throughout all stages of project development
• Provide technical support and advice to project teams, as needed
• Regularly review and compare actual project costs against estimates and identify reasons for discrepancies
• Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, and client consultations as required

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Electrical Estimating or a similar role in the construction industry
• Proficient in reading and understanding electrical blueprints and schematics
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, products, and safety standards
• Excellent numerical skills and the ability to prepare accurate estimates
• Familiarity with project management and estimating software
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
• Detail-oriented, organized, and have a high level of accuracy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Electrical Estimating or a similar role in the construction industry.
