Electrical Designer II

About This Role

This Electrical Designer II role involves developing and drafting construction documents for building systems, applying NEC standards and lighting design principles, and collaborating with architects and engineers within the convenience store market sector.

Responsibilities

• Work with Electrical Engineer and/or Electrical Design lead to communicate with clients
• Deliver completed construction documents
• Assist in construction administration as required for most project types
• Utilize education and experience to independently develop, implement, and draft construction documents for projects
• Solve medium to difficult design challenges that arise on a project or simple projects
• Apply knowledge of NEC and other national standards to simple projects
• Understand energy codes and their application to power and lighting design
• Perform photometric calculations, lighting design, and select lighting systems and controls for simple projects
• Be proficient in AutoCAD and/or REVIT and train new employees on company standards and drafting techniques
• Provide a high level of quality control on all projects

Requirements

• Proficient in AutoCAD and/or REVIT
• Knowledge of NEC and other national standards
• Basic understanding of energy codes
• Basic understanding of photometric calculations, lighting design, fault current

Qualifications

• BSEE or equivalent experience
