Electrical Designer

About This Role

Design various electrical systems for building projects, including power distribution, lighting, and auxiliary systems. This role involves close collaboration with project managers, discipline lead engineers, and other team members to ensure technical expectations are met.

Responsibilities

• Design power distribution systems, including medium and low voltage distribution, standby power, load calculations, short circuit and coordination studies, and arc flash hazard analysis
• Design lighting systems, including calculations, controls, luminaire selections, and architecturally integrated systems
• Design auxiliary systems, including fire alarm systems, voice/data structured cabling, access control, CCTV, and other low voltage systems
• Organize work and multi-task effectively
• Collaborate with project managers, discipline lead engineers, and team members on engineering tasks
• Ensure technical expectations, schedule, and manpower budgets are met for assigned engineering tasks

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience specific to building systems
• Experience in designing power distribution systems
• Experience in designing lighting systems
• Experience in designing auxiliary systems
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
• Thorough understanding of coordination aspects of all design disciplines
• Associate's Degree or studies toward a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or an Engineering-related curriculum
• Team-oriented problem-solving skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
