This role is for an Electrical Designer responsible for designing electrical systems such as power distribution, lighting, and auxiliary systems for building projects. The ideal candidate will apply strong technical skills in AutoCAD and Revit to assure technical expectations, schedule, and manpower budgets are met while collaborating with project teams.
Responsibilities
- Design Power Distribution Systems, including medium and low voltage distribution, standby power, load calculations, short circuit and coordination studies, and arc flash hazard
- Design Lighting Systems, including calculations, lighting controls, luminaire selections, and architecturally integrated lighting systems
- Design Auxiliary Systems, including fire alarm systems, voice/data structured cabling, access control, CCTV, and other low voltage systems
- Utilize AutoCAD and Revit for design tasks
- Understand coordination aspects of all design disciplines and their impact on projects
- Organize work and multi-task effectively
- Collaborate with project managers, discipline lead engineers, and team members on engineering tasks
Requirements
- Experience in designing power distribution systems
- Experience in designing lighting systems
- Experience in designing auxiliary systems
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
- Thorough understanding of coordination aspects of all design disciplines
- Associate's Degree or studies toward a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or an Engineering-related curriculum
- Minimum 5 years' experience specific to building systems
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or studies toward a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or an Engineering-related curriculum from an accredited college or university
- Minimum 5 years' experience specific to building systems
