Maintain electrical and instrumentation systems for production and process equipment in a paper mill. Support the manufacturing team by performing quality maintenance duties to maximize equipment reliability and availability. Utilize mechanical skills to maintain continuous pulp and paper process equipment.
Responsibilities
- Support continuous improvement of preventive maintenance
- Engage in preventive and predictive maintenance activities throughout the facility
- Participate in trouble-shooting efforts to respond to equipment failures and/or process deficiencies
- Participate in root cause analysis and execution of corrective actions to minimize recurrence of unplanned shutdowns
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Distributive Control System (DCS) and Programmed Logic Control (PLC) systems
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to troubleshoot and maintain process control systems
- Complete necessary documentation to ensure control documentation is current, follows change control procedures, and updates drawings
- Initiate and complete work-orders and requisitions, documenting critical and pertinent information routinely
- Responsible for vendor contact as requested
Requirements
- High School Diploma / GED
- Ability to work a rotating shift schedule, including weekends and overtime
Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED is required
- 5+ years of Instrumentation and Electrical experience in a production maintenance environment or equivalent military experience
Nice to Have
- 5+ years of Instrumentation and Electrical experience in a production maintenance environment or equivalent military experience
- Journeyman or proof of completion of college or apprenticeship
- Computer skills including MS Office and ability to quickly learn new software
- Strong electronics background with experience in 480-volt, 4160 volts, 13.8k volts, 3-Phase Controls
- AB/Rockwell DC Drive
- AB/Rockwell PLC’s
- Control Logic
- Reading Electrical Drawings and Ladder Logic
- Experience with variable frequency drives (Siemens a plus) and smart field instruments (pressure, flow, temperature, level and analytical transmitters, valve positioners, valve actuators and PID controllers)
- Understanding of the working components of PLC/DCS systems
