About This Role

Manage the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) and Facilities programs for Eaton's Camarillo, CA facility, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal standards. This role focuses on driving a zero incident safety culture and maintaining critical facility infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure plant level EHS programs, policies, procedures, and systems are developed, implemented, and sustained in compliance with regulatory and Eaton requirements
  • Plan and execute all maintenance activities for the plant building and support equipment, prioritizing preventive maintenance
  • Champion and lead projects to drive improvements in the "Zero Incident Safety Culture" program
  • Prepare and submit environmental permit applications/renewals and routine agency reports (e.g., CAA, CWA, CERCLA, SARA, RCRA)
  • Manage all plant waste disposal activity to ensure compliance with applicable regulations
  • Develop and maintain all required written safety plans (e.g., HazCom, BBP, Hearing Conservation, PPE, WRA)
  • Compile required safety performance metric data for OSHA log and Eaton databases
  • Develop and maintain plant emergency response plans and ensure drills are performed
  • Evaluate proposed projects and new chemicals for EHS compliance issues (Management of Change)
  • Ensure required employee environmental and safety training is completed on-time and documented
  • Investigate environmental and safety incidents/accidents/near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure all required plant safety inspections are performed and documented, with corrective actions completed for identified deficiencies
  • Implement required MESH actions and tasks to achieve compliance guidance
  • Drive employee engagement via EHS sub-teams (ERT, Green Team, Safety Team)
  • Manage and maintain capital projects for critical facility infrastructure and safety programs
  • Develop and supervise the execution of facilities’ preventive maintenance plans
  • Manage plant maintenance leads to ensure proper execution of work orders under safe conditions
  • Design the department structure including job descriptions, training, performance review, and coaching
  • Plan, develop, and implement new methods and procedures related to facilities maintenance to drive improvements
  • Administer all activities related to building maintenance and housekeeping
  • Responsible for technical evaluation and contract administration of maintenance service suppliers
  • Work with plant leadership to ensure MESH compliance, leading critical activities such as LOTO, fall protection, confined space, and electrical management
  • Manage facilities risk assessments (e.g., FM Global) and close critical gaps in a timely manner
  • Create a yearly budget & financial forecast, monitor spending, and provide monthly adjustments for EHS and Facilities
  • Coordinate plant security to ensure compliance with ITAR/EAR and Eaton security requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • 6+ years of related EHS and Facilities experience in a plant-manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years of experience managing people or leading project teams
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
  • U.S. person within the meaning of ITAR

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 6 years of related EHS and Facilities experience in a plant-manufacturing environment, and minimum 2 years of experience managing people or leading project teams

Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, Biological Science, Safety Science, Business Administration or Management
  • California regulatory experience
  • Experience in Digital EHS applications (eg: Training, Compliance, Inspections)
  • Good communication skills
  • Capable of being self-managed, prioritizing work, and formulating deadlines
