Material Handler

About This Role

Operate a forklift and perform material handling tasks to support manufacturing and logistics operations, ensuring efficient movement and organization of materials.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift to move raw materials, components, supplies, and finished goods
• Load and unload trailers
• Organize pallet areas and material storage locations
• Complete daily forklift inspection
• Manage recycling duties for assigned area, including operating a cardboard baler
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise
• Maintain clean and safe work areas
• Support continuous improvement and LEAN initiatives, including 5-S and visual management tools
• Actively participate in Kaizen improvements and events

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months of previous forklift or material handling experience in a manufacturing or logistics setting
• Valid and current driver’s license
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal English
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends with little advanced notice
• Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift
• Able to regularly lift 35 pounds, occasionally more than 35 lbs.
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of previous forklift or material handling experience in a manufacturing or logistics setting. Preferred: Minimum 1 year experience.
