Join the Health Information Management team as a DRG Certified Coder to accurately assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, validate DRG assignments, and ensure compliance with federal coding guidelines. This role optimizes reimbursement and supports clinical documentation integrity.
Responsibilities
- Review inpatient medical records to accurately assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes
- Assign and validate MS-DRGs / APR-DRGs to ensure appropriate reimbursement
- Collaborate with Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) teams to clarify documentation
- Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with CMS, AHA Coding Clinic, and organizational policies
- Maintain productivity and quality standards established by the department
- Analyze discrepancies and resolve DRG validation issues identified through audits or queries
- Participate in ongoing education to stay current with coding updates, regulations, and DRG changes
- Assist in compliance audits as needed
Requirements
- Accurately assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes
