About This Role

As a District Support Pharmacist, you will lead pharmacy operations by filling scheduling gaps, managing day-to-day duties, and serving as a role model across CVS Health pharmacies. This role ensures safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunization practices to improve patient health.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
  • Travel the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator (DPC).
  • Oversee the pharmacy and serve as the Pharmacy Manager's proxy during bench shifts without overlap.
  • Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the pharmacy team to follow workflow procedures and utilize safety guardrails.
  • Assume Pharmacy Manager's day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty.
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy and genuine care, and coaching the pharmacy team.
  • Proactively offer and deliver immunizations to keep patients healthy.
  • Support the effective management of pharmacy inventory by following and guiding the pharmacy team on best practices.
  • Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, actively seeking opportunities to expand knowledge.
  • Support access to care and help improve patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services.

Requirements

  • Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
  • Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
  • Ability to travel within a reasonable radius
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Attention and Focus: ability to concentrate, pivot tasks, confirm prescription information
  • Customer Service and Team Orientation skills
  • Communication Skills: verbal and written, active listening
  • Mathematical Reasoning: ability to use math to solve problems
  • Problem Resolution: identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions
  • Physical Demands: mobile, upright for extended periods, lift, scan, bag, reach, stoop

Qualifications

  • Entry level with 0-2 years of experience.

Nice to Have

  • 1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
