As a District Support Pharmacist, you will lead pharmacy operations by filling scheduling gaps, managing day-to-day duties, and serving as a role model across CVS Health pharmacies. This role ensures safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunization practices to improve patient health.
Responsibilities
- Manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
- Travel the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator (DPC).
- Oversee the pharmacy and serve as the Pharmacy Manager's proxy during bench shifts without overlap.
- Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the pharmacy team to follow workflow procedures and utilize safety guardrails.
- Assume Pharmacy Manager's day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy and genuine care, and coaching the pharmacy team.
- Proactively offer and deliver immunizations to keep patients healthy.
- Support the effective management of pharmacy inventory by following and guiding the pharmacy team on best practices.
- Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, actively seeking opportunities to expand knowledge.
- Support access to care and help improve patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services.
Requirements
- Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
- Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
- Ability to travel within a reasonable radius
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
- Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
- Attention and Focus: ability to concentrate, pivot tasks, confirm prescription information
- Customer Service and Team Orientation skills
- Communication Skills: verbal and written, active listening
- Mathematical Reasoning: ability to use math to solve problems
- Problem Resolution: identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions
- Physical Demands: mobile, upright for extended periods, lift, scan, bag, reach, stoop
Qualifications
- Entry level with 0-2 years of experience.
Nice to Have
- 1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
