District Support Pharmacist

About This Role

Serve as a District Support Pharmacist for CVS Health, covering scheduling gaps in Winston-Salem, NC, and ensuring safe and effective patient care. This role involves managing pharmacy operations and collaborating with healthcare teams to improve patient health.

Responsibilities

• Manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
• Travel the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator (DPC)
• Oversee the pharmacy and serve as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts without overlap
• Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by adhering to pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails
• Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, and coaching the pharmacy team
• Proactively offer and deliver immunizations to keep patients healthy and engage Pharmacy Technicians to immunize
• Support effective management of pharmacy inventory by following and guiding the team on inventory best practices
• Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, actively seeking opportunities to expand knowledge
• Support access to care and improved patient outcomes through pharmacist delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services
• Understand and comply with all relevant federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles

Requirements

• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
• Ability to travel within a reasonable radius
• Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
• Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe

Qualifications

• Entry-level with 0-2 years preferred experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.

• 1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
