District Support Pharmacist

About This Role

The District Support Pharmacist (DSP) covers pharmacist scheduling gaps within a district, supporting pharmacy teams and ensuring excellent patient care. This role involves managing and overseeing pharmacy operations and acting as a role model for the pharmacy team.

Responsibilities

• Manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
• Travel within the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator (DPC)
• Oversee the pharmacy and serve as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts without overlap
• Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures and utilizing safety guardrails
• Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or the primary pharmacist-on-duty
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care and coaching the pharmacy team
• Proactively offer and deliver immunizations and engage Pharmacy Technicians to immunize
• Support effective management of pharmacy inventory by following all inventory best practices
• Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, including company-required trainings and CMEs
• Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services
• Comply with all relevant federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles

Requirements

• Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
• Ability to travel within a reasonable radius for staffing needs
• Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends

Nice to Have

• 1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
