District Support Pharmacist

About This Role

Serve as a District Support Pharmacist for CVS Health, covering scheduling gaps across various stores. You will act as a role model, manage pharmacy operations, and deliver compassionate patient care, including safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
• Travel within the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator (DPC).
• Oversee the pharmacy and serve as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts without overlap.
• Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures and utilizing safety guardrails.
• Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, and coaching the pharmacy team.
• Proactively offer and deliver immunizations to keep patients healthy, engaging Pharmacy Technicians to immunize.
• Support effective management of pharmacy inventory by following and guiding the pharmacy team on best practices, especially for cold chain products.
• Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, actively seeking opportunities to expand knowledge to better support patients.
• Comply with all relevant federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and CVS Health policies related to patient safety, privacy, and workplace conduct.

Requirements

• Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list

Nice to Have

• 1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
