District Sales Manager

About This Role

This role involves generating new business and managing existing customer relationships for a liquid feed products manufacturer in the Texas Panhandle and Eastern New Mexico territory. The District Sales Manager will be the primary contact for beef and feed mill customers, building relationships to achieve commercial goals.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow Westway’s dairy feed business in the region
• Conduct technical sales conversations with dairies and dairy nutritionists
• Manage and prepare product pricing and sales contracts for customers
• Maintain a territory business plan, including sales goals, customer performance, prospect lists, competitive pressure, and forecasts
• Identify and help coordinate the installation and service of necessary liquid feed storage tanks and equipment with customers
• Represent the company at industry functions and organizations
• Identify problems, find appropriate solutions, and resolve issues in a timely manner

Requirements

• Demonstrated competency in sales and business development and growth
• Deep understanding of the dairy industry, market and industry trends
• Ability to effectively communicate with highly technical nutritionists, dairymen, and internal functional teammates
• Ability to interact with and establish and maintain effective relationships with co-workers and customers
• High motivation level with the ability to perform work with considerable independence under the general direction of supervisor

Qualifications

• Demonstrated competency in sales and business development and growth, preferably from a livestock feed product sales background.

Nice to Have

• Masters or PHD in Ruminant Nutrition/Dairy Nutrition and/or extensive experience as a dairy nutritionist
