Disaster Response Technician

About This Role

Support the Hospital Emergency Management Department and Disaster Response Team (DRT) with response and recovery efforts to emergency situations. This includes mitigation, training, and active participation in disaster or relief operations.

Responsibilities

• Respond to decontamination alerts (hospital, mutual aid, community or regional responses) and disaster alerts (surge capacity, triage, and evacuation).
• Assist with stores and maintenance of decon room, truck and trailer which includes contents of each.
• Attend monthly DRT meetings and DRT training.
• Participate in drills and exercises as scheduled.
• Assist with disaster preparedness and response initiatives as scheduled.

Requirements

• 1 year experience in emergency management, emergency or disaster response, emergency medical response, decontamination response, or firefighting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Required
• 1 year Experience in Emergency management, emergency or disaster response, emergency medical response, decontamination response, or firefighting.

Nice to Have

• Experience in HazMat
• Certified Emergency Medical Technician
• Certified Paramedic
