Lead and manage the nursing services program for a correctional health care provider, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and national standards, while coordinating patient care, staff development, and budget administration.
Responsibilities
- Receive and review daily outpatient and infirmary reports
- Participate in comprehensive planning and implementation of the Nursing Services Program
- Direct planning, priority setting and the development of policies and procedures for the Division of Nursing Services
- Coordinate and monitor orientation, in-services and continuing education within the Division of Nursing Services
- Coordinate the development, provision and evaluation of patient care according to quality care standards
- Conduct recruitment and retention efforts for the Division of Nursing Services
- Participate in the development and administration of a budget for Nursing Services
- Chair Infection Control Committee and develop/implement procedures, audits and nursing in-services
- Prepare and submit monthly reports to the Health Care Unit Administrator
- Develop and maintain staff schedule for Division of Nursing Service in accordance with contract terms
Requirements
- Current State Registered Nursing License
- Current CPR Certification
- Graduate of nursing school
Qualifications
- Graduate of nursing school required; BSN preferred
- 3 years of experience in a supervisory/leadership nursing role preferred; 2 years of administrative and/or correctional nursing experience can be substituted for BSN
