As a Mental Health Professional, you will provide critical clinical services to justice-involved patients under the guidance of the Associate Director of Mental Health Programs. Your work will involve assessments, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and individual/group counseling to support patients in managing their mental disorders.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical services, including screening, assessment, treatment planning and crisis intervention
- Perform individual and group therapeutic counseling
- Perform administrative consultations for specialized social services
- Interview inmates to obtain medical history, mental health history, or other pertinent information
- Observe inmates to detect indications of abnormal behavior
- Review test results, treatment plans, and treatment cases with the behavioral health team to evaluate client needs and implement treatment
- Coordinate psychiatry services, including tracking patient requests or staff referrals for psychotropic meds and administrative duties for psychiatry visits
- Plan and administer therapeutic treatment such as counseling, behavior modification and psychosocial education
- Discuss progress toward treatment goals with inmates and ensure treatment plans are completed and adhered to
- Consult with the behavioral health team concerning treatment plans and amend as needed
- Prepare necessary documentation, records, and reports
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings
Requirements
- Fully licensed, have temporary license or associate license in Arizona as a LMHC or LCSW
- Current CPR certification
- Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling
- Entry-level position. At least two (2) years prior clinical experience working with forensic clients preferred.
Nice to Have
- At least two (2) years prior clinical experience working with forensic clients
- Familiarity with relevant research literature, clinical assessments, procedures and methods
- Ability to assess treatment goals and write goal-directed, individualized treatment plans
- Ability to monitor and document individual behavior patterns and modify treatment plans
- Familiarity with diagnostic nomenclature outlined in the most recent Diagnostic and Statistical Manual
