About This Role

This role involves leading the finance and accounting functions for Driven Insights' clients, ensuring insightful financial reporting, managing operations, and overseeing compliance. The Director will work closely with clients and the internal team to drive value and insights.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as lead accountant for client businesses and oversee client team
  • Own client accounting process to generate insightful financial reporting
  • Responsible for monthly financial close, KPI measurement & management/board reporting
  • Lead all aspects of monthly client meetings, providing insights for client business owners
  • Monitor client maturity and company goals to ensure services remain relevant
  • Oversee compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements
  • Own sales tax, covenant calculations & sales commissions calculations
  • Own and evolve internal client accounting processes to promote efficiency and data accuracy
  • Manage & leverage accounting technology, such as QuickBooks, BILL, Avalara, Divvy, Qvinci and business intelligence/subscription billing tools such as Maxio
  • Lead & manage cash flow, budget & scenario planning
  • Ensure accuracy of financial and metric data in Business Intelligence System & QuickBooks
  • Contribute to or lead strategic projects (e.g.: due diligence, fundraising requests, financial analysis)
  • Coach client sales leadership on contract negotiations and compensation planning
  • Support the growth of other team members via management of growth as Team Lead

Requirements

  • Experience successfully revamping accounting, finance and operational processes and technologies
  • Strong QuickBooks Online experience
  • Strong understanding of KPIs with track record of using to make quick, informed decisions
  • Exceptionally strong Google Sheet / Microsoft Excel GAAP-compliant financial modeling skills
  • Firm grasp on sales tax liability management, including usage of management tools like Avalara
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, decision-making & project management skills
  • Willingness to work at a high level of intensity and fast pace
  • Flexible and able to handle multiple projects at one time while maintaining incredible attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting
  • Ability to effectively research and compile data from financial reporting systems, databases, spreadsheets, and other data sources
  • Ability to manage and balance multiple priorities and urgent requests effectively, with ability to quickly adapt for changing business needs
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and collaboration skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • 10 years of experience as a Controller to Director of Finance level in SaaS firm

Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree in accounting, MBA, and/or CPA license
  • Experience with Xero, Intacct & NetSuite
