Accounting Manager

About This Role

As an Accounting Manager, you will be the primary accounting partner for a portfolio of clients, ensuring meticulous financial reporting, strict adherence to GAAP and regulatory standards, and providing insightful analysis to management and stakeholders. You will lead and develop a team of accounting professionals and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary accounting partner for a portfolio of clients
• Ensure meticulous financial reporting and strict adherence to GAAP and regulatory standards
• Deliver insightful analysis to management teams and stakeholders
• Oversee the successful execution of client engagements and ensure all deliverables are completed on time and at the expected level of quality
• Manage revenue cycle (order to cash) and expense management process
• Lead or support payroll processing and accounting
• Manage monthly financial close, KPI measurement, and management/board reporting
• Oversee compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements
• Handle client-specific requirements like sales tax, covenant calculations, and sales commissions
• Lead and mentor a team of five accounting professionals, guiding best practices, career development, and performance management

Requirements

• Experience successfully revamping accounting processes and technology
• Strong with complex revenue recognition (eg: ASC 606 for subscription revenue)
• Deep knowledge of complex payroll
• Strong QuickBooks Online experience
• Strong understanding of KPIs with track record of using to make quick, informed decisions
• Exceptionally strong Google Sheet / Microsoft Excel GAAP-compliant financial modeling skills
• Firm grasp on sales tax liability management, including usage of management tool like Avalara
• Sound written and verbal communication skills
• Proven analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, decision-making & project management skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an Accounting Manager, 2+ years of audit work in a CPA firm, and experience as a lead accountant in rapidly growing firm(s)
