Serve as the primary accounting partner for a portfolio of clients, ensuring meticulous financial reporting, adherence to GAAP and regulatory standards, and delivery of insightful analysis. Manage complex client engagements, lead and develop a team of accounting professionals, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary accounting partner for a portfolio of clients
- Monitor financial reporting and ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards
- Oversee the successful execution of client engagements and deliverables
- Lead and mentor a team of five accounting professionals, guiding best practices and career development
- Support recruitment efforts and onboard new team members
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
- Manage revenue cycle (order to cash)
- Oversee expense management process
- Lead or support payroll processing and accounting
- Conduct monthly financial close, KPI measurement & management/board reporting
Requirements
- Experience successfully revamping accounting processes and technology
- Strong with complex revenue recognition (eg: ASC 606 for subscription revenue)
- Deep knowledge of complex payroll
- Strong QuickBooks Online experience
- Strong understanding of KPIs with track record of using to make quick, informed decisions
- Exceptionally strong Google Sheet / Microsoft Excel GAAP-compliant financial modeling skills
- Firm grasp on sales tax liability management, including usage of management tool like Avalara
- Sound written and verbal communication skills
- Proven analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, decision-making & project management skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an Accounting Manager, plus 2+ years of audit work in a CPA firm, and experience as a lead accountant in rapidly growing firm(s)
Nice to Have
- Master’s in Accounting and/or CPA license
- Experience with Xero, Intacct & NetSuite
