About This Role

Provide medical nutrition therapy and personalized nutrition counseling to patients across the lifespan in an outpatient setting. Collaborate with healthcare teams to manage various health conditions and promote patient well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical nutrition therapy to patients across the lifespan with personalized nutrition counseling
  • Offer guidance on lifestyle changes to manage health conditions including diabetes, weight management, cardiovascular disease, gastrointestinal disorders, and autoimmune conditions
  • Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to provide optimal patient care
  • Assess the nutritional status of neonates/infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patients using anthropometric measurements, nutrition focused physical examination and interpretation of laboratory values
  • Develop, revise, and individualize nutrition care plans based on patient information
  • Incorporate evidence-based research into practice
  • Utilize physician/referring practitioner driven protocols to initiate, implement or modify diet orders and nutritional supplements
  • Document all relevant aspects of nutrition care for patients in the EMR
  • Assist patients with developing a support plan and behavior changes
  • Provide evidence-based counseling to individuals, families, and community groups

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Food and Nutrition or related field from an ACEND approved program
  • 1 year supervised practice experience or 1 year on the job experience
  • Registered Dietitian / Registered Dietitian Nutritionist certification within 90 days of hire
  • Licensed Dietitian-Nutritionist within 180 days of hire
  • Knowledge of foods/nutrition; food preparation; production; supervisory/instructional techniques
  • Proficient computer skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Food and Nutrition or related field from a program approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND)
  • 1 year supervised practice experience or 1 year on the job experience
