About This Role

Prepare and serve food for patients, employees, and special functions, adhering to nutritional guidelines and safety standards. Maintain a clean and safe working environment and ensure proper food handling and storage.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food following standardized recipes, planned menus, and policies
  • Serve and portion food per standardized recipes, planned menus, and policies
  • Follow patient diet orders when serving food
  • Use production sheets to direct preparation and quantity of food
  • Prepare and serve food at proper temperatures set forth by FDA Food Code
  • Label, date, and store food properly according to established policies and cool-down techniques
  • Take refrigerator/freezer temperatures twice daily and report deviations to supervisor
  • Assist in receiving, storing, and verifying invoices for incoming food and supplies
  • Keep work area clean and uncluttered during preparation and service of food
  • Wash dishes, pots, and pans according to established procedures
  • Operate and maintain equipment in clean and safe operating condition

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • One year experience in quantity food preparation
  • Knowledge of safe food handling
  • Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • One year's experience in a quantity food preparation setting (e.g., restaurant, hospital, nursing center, hotel)

Nice to Have

  • Full understanding of therapeutic diets

Certifications

ServSafe (preferred) (Required) Food Protection Manager’s Certification from an accredited ANSI-CFP program (within 90 days of hire) (Required)
