About This Role

Evaluate and implement medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs, educating patients on injury prevention and rehabilitation. Supervise physical therapy assistants and aides in providing care.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs
  • Provide educational information to patients regarding injury prevention, ergonomics, restorative therapy and rehabilitation
  • Supervise physical therapy assistants and aides in performing treatment
  • Interact professionally with patients/families, treating them with respect and dignity
  • Effectively and appropriately communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers
  • Perform appropriate assessments and reassessments on all patients across all age groups
  • Administer treatment involving application of physical agent modalities using various equipment
  • Perform therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills
  • Evaluate, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommend modifications
  • Plan, prepare, and carry out individually designed programs of physical treatment for patients
  • Formulate a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluate effectiveness of learning, involving family as appropriate
  • Establish a plan of care appropriate to identified problems, involving the patient and documenting goals, progress, and reevaluation plans

Requirements

  • Current State Physical Therapy License
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire or transfer
  • Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
  • Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Proficient time management skills
  • Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Physical Therapy

Nice to Have

  • Additional languages preferred
