About This Role

The Dietary Cook prepares and serves meals for residents in a post-acute care community, ensuring quality food and dining service in accordance with health and safety standards. This role focuses on cooking home-cooked meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, without late-night shifts, and offers opportunities to showcase culinary skills in community events.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards and guidelines
  • Adhere to center standards and procedures for food preparation and dining service
  • Cook and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals for residents
  • Showcase culinary talents in community events that are advertised through social media

Requirements

  • High School diploma (or equivalent)
  • Food Handler's Card or Serve Safe Training as required by state or local health departments

Qualifications

  • High School diploma (or equivalent)

Nice to Have

  • Previous cooking and/or culinary experience
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Post-acute care or health care experience
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft products
