Die Cut Apprentice

About This Role

The Die Cut Apprentice role prepares the individual to become a Die Cut Operator by providing cross-training in all functions and tasks associated with running die cut machines effectively and efficiently to maintain a safe working environment, good quality, and meet production goals.

Responsibilities

• Push stock, stack, and off-load corrugated material from the machine
• Feed corrugated blanks into the machine for the job it is designed to run
• Make necessary adjustments to substrate for warp and registration
• Set up the feed section and the stripper section of the machine
• Mount and retrieve die plates
• Maintain overall quality and cleanliness of the machine
• Assist the operator on all aspects as required during training
• Fill in during the absence of the operator
• Ensure overall Safety and cleanliness of equipment and area
• Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED minimum
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
• Proficient Microsoft Office computer skills to include Outlook, Word and Excel
