The Die Cut Apprentice role prepares the individual to become a Die Cut Operator by providing cross-training in all functions and tasks associated with running die cut machines effectively and efficiently to maintain a safe working environment, good quality, and meet production goals.
Responsibilities
- Push stock, stack, and off-load corrugated material from the machine
- Feed corrugated blanks into the machine for the job it is designed to run
- Make necessary adjustments to substrate for warp and registration
- Set up the feed section and the stripper section of the machine
- Mount and retrieve die plates
- Maintain overall quality and cleanliness of the machine
- Assist the operator on all aspects as required during training
- Fill in during the absence of the operator
- Ensure overall Safety and cleanliness of equipment and area
- Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED minimum
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Proficient Microsoft Office computer skills to include Outlook, Word and Excel
