Deli/Department Leader

About This Role

Lead the Deli department to create an uplifting customer experience, manage department operations, and develop associates to deliver excellent service and meet sales goals.

Responsibilities

• Create an uplifting and friendly customer experience through exceptional service
• Interview, train, evaluate performance, reward, and coach associates
• Establish an uplifting work environment for associates
• Empower associates to create a simple, fresh and inspired shopping experience
• Prioritize and plan work activities using time efficiently
• Identify and resolve problems by gathering and analyzing information
• Communicate company, department, and job-specific information to associates
• Ensure new associates are properly oriented to the department
• Delegate work assignments and monitor progress
• Execute all action plans and daily priorities including performance goals
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
• Manage the scheduling of Deli associates to meet customer demand
• Provide appropriate, actionable feedback to help teams and individuals grow
• Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management
• Monitor and control supply expenses for the department
• Assist store management in preparing the store/department budget and conducting profit and loss reviews
• Supervise and coach Deli associates, complete performance reviews, and provide feedback

Requirements

• Effective communication/customer service skills
• Knowledge of basic math
• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Ability to lead other associates
