Supervise staff responsible for authorizing child care for parents under the Wisconsin Shares program, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and accurate processing of authorization requests. Implement management policies, coordinate with internal and external organizations, and evaluate program effectiveness to support children and families.
Responsibilities
- Supervise staff responsible for authorizing child care under the Wisconsin Shares program
- Ensure appropriate authorization of care hours with certified/licensed providers in compliance with state and federal laws
- Implement management policies, assign and review staff work, and evaluate performance
- Recommend corrective action for staff when required
- Coordinate services with other units within MECA, including the Client Investigation Unit for fraud prevention
- Collaborate with Department of Health Services, W-2 Agencies, Partner Organizations, and parent/advocate groups
- Ensure high quality and effective processing of authorization requests
- Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, administrative rules, and policies
- Evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements or revisions
- Maintain and report program data
Requirements
- Experience working as a team lead/lead worker (providing guidance, training, reviewing work, coaching)
- Experience providing direct service in a human service program (customer service, managing projects, input/developing policies, implementing program changes)
- Experience applying programmatic policy and/or eligibility requirements in a professional setting (public-benefit programs, non-profit/community-based services, human resources, grant funding, higher education financial assistance)
Nice to Have
- Experience working as a supervisor (providing feedback, monitoring daily work and performance, assigning work, recruiting and training staff, managing internal conflict, giving directives)
- Experience working in a call center environment (answering inbound calls within a queue, transferring calls, conferencing)
- Experience working with childcare program policy, eligibility, or related program (FoodShare, Medicare, Wisconsin Works, WIC, Emergency Food and Rental Assistance)
- Experience using Centralized Automated Reporting & Eligibility System (CARES)
- Experience using CARES Worker Web (CWW)
- Experience using Child Care Statewide Administration (CSAW)
- Experience using Electronic Case File (ECF) or other similar public benefits databases
