CVICU Registered Nurse

About This Role

Provide advanced nursing care in a specialized Pediatric Cardiology Intensive Care Unit (PCICU) for critically ill pediatric patients with congenital heart disease and complex cardiac conditions. This role supports cardiac surgery care, ventricular assist devices, ECMO, and pediatric palliative support.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered, high-acuity nursing care at ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 depending on patient acuity
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to manage complex cardiac therapies including heart transplants and cardiac catheterizations
• Provide ventilatory and cardiac support, ECMO, CRRT, and other advanced life support measures
• Participate in unit initiatives to maintain Beacon Award status and assist in quality patient outcome improvements
• Float within the scope of practice as needed to support unit flexibility

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years pediatric cardiac ICU nursing experience
• CV and pediatric nursing expertise
• Valid SC or multi-state compact RN license
• PALS (American Heart Association)
• BLS (American Heart Association)

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years pediatric cardiac ICU nursing experience required

Nice to Have

• VAD experience highly preferred
• ACLS certification
