Custodian

About This Role

Serve as a full-time day custodian for the Mountain Lakes School District, ensuring the cleanliness and functionality of school buildings and assisting with various operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain school facilities at MLHS following established protocols
• Perform minor and routine repairs as needed
• Handle interoffice and interschool courier duties, including school lunch delivery
• Assist with block lunch duties at MLHS
• Be available for and carry out snow removal and ice control operations on school grounds
• Set up for school events and activities
• Respond to changing and/or short notice custodial service requirements
• Take ownership of the overall cleanliness and functionality of the school building
• Be available for emergency response and weather-related call-ins

Requirements

• Dependable and self-motivated
• Knowledge of email communications/computer applications
• Flexibility for departmental operational changes on day-to-day basis
• Ability to follow Custodial cleaning protocols for cleanliness and building safety
• Ability to perform minor and routine repairs
• Ability to respond to changing and/or short notice custodial service requirements
• Ability to work well with the general school community
• Ability to perform all aspects of custodial services
• Awareness of State required inspections, safety and health codes
• Understanding and ability to carry out responsibilities of a custodian during emergencies

Qualifications

• Custodial/Maintenance experience preferred

Nice to Have

• New Jersey Black Seal Boiler Operator's License (valid license)
• Custodial/Maintenance experience
